About the Author
I was born David Sherman Todd. At age 20, during a party that I had arranged for some college friends, I went upstairs to my room alone, and quietly made a deal with God concerning a dream of mine which I had since early childhood—which deal resulted in such a change that evening, that shortly thereafter, one day after Sociology class as I was about to leave, Sociology teacher and recently-elected Baltimore City Council woman Barbara Mikulski—(now U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski)—went and stood in the doorway of the classroom with her fists on her hips to block my exit, and then she curiously asked, “David!, what has happened to you!?” (because before the deal, I despised her and showed her little respect—although she had always been kind and considerate towards me) But after my deal with God, I lost the hatred, and began to show her kindness; and responding to her question about what had happened, I simply told her that I received Jesus. She said, “I knew something happened to you!”. Fifteen years later, after a Resurrection event occurred at Noon on May 5th, 1987, I legally changed my name to David shepherd Israel.
