If you build it, love will come…to Hope's Crossing.
Alexandra McKnight prefers a life of long workdays and short-term relationships, and she's found it in Hope's Crossing. A sous chef at the local ski resort, she's just been offered her dream job at an exclusive new restaurant being built in town. But when it comes to designing the kitchen, Alex finds herself getting up close and personal with construction foreman Sam Delgado….
At first glance, Sam seems perfect for Alex. He's big, tough, gorgeous—and only in town for a few weeks. But when Sam suddenly moves into a house down the road, Alex suspects that the devoted single father of a six-year-old boy wants more from her than she's willing to give. Now it's up to Sam to help Alex see that, no matter what happened in her past, together they can build something more meaningful in Hope's Crossing.

From Booklist
Alexandra McKnight is about to realize her dream of being a chef when Brodie Thorne, a wealthy resident of Hope’s Crossing, decides to build an upscale restaurant. Sam Delgado, a widowed carpenter, is brought in from Denver to finish the building. Alex likes short romances; she doesn’t want a long-term commitment and always checks to make sure the men she dates are not married or already in a relationship. So her plan to have a fling with the handsome carpenter runs into complications when it turns out that Sam has a six-year-old son and will be making Hope’s Crossing his permanent home. Characters encountered in Thayne’s (Woodrose Mountain, 2012) earlier books make appearances that enhance the pleasure for fans but won’t detract from the experience of readers new to the series. As always, the denizens of this small, authentic Colorado town work their way right into the hearts of readers in Thayne’s latest feel-good read. --Diana Tixier Herald

Love Is Worth The Risk In Currant Creek Valley....
By terrylynn
RaeAnne Thayne gives another enchanting read with her newest addition to her Hope's Crossing series and it's a classic romance set in a lovely town filled with exciting people that are nice to catch up with in every new book.
Things are going pretty well for sous chef Alexandra McKnight. She is about to fulfill a lifelong dream by being in charge of her own restaurant. She is surrounded by a caring family, just bought her first house, enjoys lovingly preparing meals for people in need, especially her elderly friend Caroline, and she has even taken in a stray Lab she found wandering around and life is good... everything except for her growing attraction to Sam Delgado...
Sam is a sexy ex Army Ranger and widower, loaded with muscles, talent and a big heart and he just happens to be the guy who is finishing Alex's new kitchen. While the attraction is definitely mutual, Alex has a hard time admitting just how happy she is whenever they're together. And when Sam introduces Alex to his young son Ethan who is the cutest, smartest little thing she's ever seen, the warning bells go off as she realizes she could fall in love with these two with very little effort. The problem is, after being hurt by two important men in her life before, Alex is not about to go down that road again. So much to Sam's frustration, Alex refuses to pursue the relationship resulting in aching hearts for both of them. Alex's fear is stronger than her desire to admit her feelings for Sam and for most of the book she's fighting it with all she's got.
Current Creek Valley is an enjoyable read, a solid romance with a large list of appealing characters, especially the ever patient Sam. Alex keeps herself so busy, trying to run from her demons, that she made be feel exhausted just trying to keep up. The only fault I can find with this book is Alex's constant refusal of Sam's attention which got frustrating for me after a while since it's made obvious to the reader that Alex does have strong feelings for Sam and his son, but continues to lie to herself and everyone else around her. She doesn't see the light until the end of the book and all I could think was "finally she's giving being honest a try!" But Sam and Alex are characters you can care about, Ethan is a cute addition to the story and the setting is gorgeous. All in all and good solid 4 stars and another success for RaeAnne Thayne.

Good series, decent book...
By Beckymmoe
This one wasn't my favorite in the series, but it was a decent read. I loved the character of Sam--strong, patient, great father, fantastic...hands. His son, Ethan, was awesome--reminded me a lot of the boy in Jerry Maguire. (Did you know the human head weighs ten pounds? ;)) The chocolate lab was sweet (though yet another example of a fictional animal who makes me feel inadequate as a non-fictional owner, but I digress.) The character I had problems with was Alex. She just seemed too hung up on her issues, which, when we finally find out what they are, just didn't add up to the hype as far as I was concerned. Of course we got the HEA, and saw many favorite characters from the other books, so in the end all's well that ends well. I'll definitely be looking forward to the next installment--and only partially to see what Ethan's up to :)

Lovely Romance
By Ionia Froment
First of all, what a pretty cover! If you love food and you love romance, this is a wonderfully fun book to read. The characters are charming and engaging. I was a little confused in the beginning with there being so many characters, but it gets easier to distinguish who is who as the novel progresses. By the second chapter I had it figured out.
The plot for this book was good and the pacing was perfect. One thing about Currant Creek Valley that really impressed me was how the chemistry between the characters is obvious. The author doesn't waste any time bringing the heat between her characters to the reader. RaeAnne Thayne is a master at building quirky characters that have the right amount of fire between them to keep you turning the pages.
I found the romances in this book to be exactly what I was hoping for. There was enough suggestion to raise my temperature without getting explicit; which I appreciated. There is a healthy amount of humor throughout the book and that made it a lot of fun to read.
The happenings throughout the story with the new business made for an interesting backdrop and gave the book another element aside from the romance.
I would recommend this book to lover's of cozy romance and those who like creations from the kitchen!
