Short and Sweet Diet Crash Course

This book doesn't waste time in getting to the point: it covers the most popular diets, including their benefits and short comings.
It then introduces the reader to what the author, established fitness expert Jimmy Smith, proposes is a better solution: an advanced form of carb cycling.
Interesting read and very informative. Let me just say that you can get this information by buying the better diet books out there, experimenting with them and then combining their best and most effective parts.
OR you can save time and money and buy this one here.
You'll also get a better understanding of why you're doing what you're doing, and why something works...or not.
Altogether: recommended.

Best of all diet worlds

The author has done quite a bit of research into a variety of diet and lays out the pros and cons of each. As a fitness author and blogger myself, I was in agreement with many of his assessments about the benefits and detriments of carbohydrate restriction for long term dieting success.
The solution laid out in this book revolves cycling nutrients, particularly carbohydrates. A cycling approach to carbohydrate intake seems to be the most effective from my experience for getting the greatest benefits without plateauing or feeling sluggish.
There is a simple formula and chart to figure out exactly how many grams of protein, carbohydrates, and fat one should consume each day with sample diets for both men and women.
I would not say this book is for an absolute beginner, but someone with a little bit of experience in counting macro nutrients and comfortable with tracking food intake.
Great read for those looking to take their physique to the next level with a more cutting edge diet plan that is still easy enough the majority of people can make it work.
